Yep, as a Bwars fan, this is the way to defend them against Case. Rome may be a nonfactor as the X. The depth of talent will see completions on post and shallow crossers, but YAC will be near zero is my guess

These little beauties are often very tricky to photograph but managed a few of this in the garden recently: good enough to get it IDed on FB BWARS site as Pseudomalus triangulifer. Apparently only recently recognised as a UK sp. so I've no idea how common it is.

It could be a damaged nest of Median Wasp, Dolichovespula media, which often nests in hedges and bushes, but apparently can be at 'several metres' (15 is a very high 'several'!) bwars.com/wasp/vespida...

Opinions sought on this odd-looking bumble. Appears to be female and not, as I first thought, a cuckoo bee - corbiculate hind tarsus and 12 antennal segments. Posted on the BWARS FB group and no consensus reached. Any suggestions?

Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum) is in full flower here on the east coast and the scent is overpowering in sunny weather. This Cliff Mining bee was gathering it's pale pollen for her nearby nest.

Thanks. It would be my first new to Britain, but frustrating that it might not be accepted. Several people on the BWARS Facebook page are saying it definitely is the Pseudoanthidium - I'm not sure who has the final say over what is acceptable with bees!
