I have a starter one my mom bought for my young daughter, my main Babylock with the computerized fancy stitches, my new (to me) Juki TL2010, my grandmother’s 1965 Kenmore (a beast!), and a serger. I love them all for different purposes.

i have an old school brother 1034D that i got on rollback for under $200 😄

i too goon over the babylock air threading feature tho, like omggg, the amount of aggravation and mental terror that would prevent, what a dream 🤩

alastor is a trans man (soft confirmed) /nsrs

this wording was a mistake. INTERNALIZED has a very specific connotation, being that you grew up effected by misogyny but unintentionally partake in perpetuating it (often "women" is used)

i will now inject my transness into this deer oc ♡

🧩 This month in the Cool Laboratory, we learn how to use our sublimation printer. You will see us make a custom jigsaw puzzle, but you can create many other kinds of projects with this equipment, such as shirts, totes, and mugs.
Cool Laboratory: Embroidery Machine
Thanks to a very generous donation, we have recently obtained a new professional-quality embroidery machine! Our Babylock Array has 6 needles, so it can hold many colors at once for more complex projects. It also is much easier to embroider on clothing and hats due to the design of the machine. Since the Array is quite different from our previous single-needle version, all users must first attend an hour-long training session. To schedule training, you may speak to staff at the Help Desk, call us at (203)284-6452, or email us at wplcollaboratory@gmail.com. Here is a sneak preview of how the machine works!

Hmm despite my passion for the Gameboy sewing machines, my main machines are both babylock 😩

I'm afraid to put to much wear on the Gameboy machines

Nice!

I have a 50 year old husky lock 340D.

in for maintenance servicing. 5-7 weeks before I get it back.

In the meantime I bought a babylock and a pfaff coverlock. Now I have too many sergers

I am not a seamstress, heres my opinion. Overlocker/ Serger is great for garments, stitching that need more strength. Most machines have overlocker stitches built in. I got 1 during covid. I love it but dont use it for everything. Brother makes Babylock. Usually they are the same machine.

First, let me say that I do not know how to sew, and before I buy anything I plan to borrow sis-in-law’s machine to learn a little. That said, what would you pick for beginner wanting to learn quilting? Needs to be light enough to move on and off kitchen table. #sewing #quilting #beginner

Hill I‘m willing to die on: Sewing machines for literal THOUSANDS of Euros with displays the size of an iPad should not be so awful in usability that you need a pencil to use the touchscreen.
(looking at you brother + babylock)

yeah, that‘s why I have a carrying case AND a trolley with wheels for my bernina b530.
I‘ve bought her in 2017 and that trolley has been sitting in its cardboard box in the attic since then. Useless. 😁
They currently have a „deal“ where you get some yarn for free if you buy a babylock serger.

I have the babylock jazz II. It has a 12 inch throat and is purely mechanical which is what I wanted. Zero issues so far and I've had it for a little over 4 years.

Oooo i do like a Juki lol. That thing goes through all kinds of layers like butter. We have one at work. I have a Babylock Jazz II named Mildred at home with a 12" throat and i love it! At work i use a Babylock Symphony named Sally and a set of Project Runway Brothers named Mary Kate and Ashley.
