I think axes are cool so I keep drawing them, here are da best

First time doing a #Mermay piece in a while, had some fun making myself (my fursona) as a Merfurry(/) Partly based on the Dunkleosteus and Sturgeon

A digital drawing of a heavy set anthropomorphic calico cat with green spikes on his face and scaley arms, he has a green frill around his neck and some boney armor on his head and he has a long armored sturgeon like tail with backspikes and scales on the udnerside

You may choose ONE, says Khuldor Nargrash, Grimlord of the Lightless Frostlands, as he applies a fresh coat of ashen corpse paint to his thirteen layer caked face. It's a generous offer. Which one do you choose?

Pencil sketches of three dark medieval weapons: a sword with battered long blade, a cruel axe with twisted backspikes, and a hefty, solid mace with diamond-shaped head.

Some weapon sketchies
Mace is a redraw of an illustration I found ages ago and wanted to see if I could replicate, sword is: what if swords had backspikes

#Art #MyArt #Illustration #TraditionalArt
Pen and ink sketch of a mace with spiked round head Pen and ink sketch of a curved, flat tipped cleaver sword, the back part of the top of the blade is extended as a long spike

Honestly? After seeing him leap and wallclimb I'm sold. The backspikes look rad in motion

Cruel battleaxe used by knights who are little more than filth-caked barbarians to hack each other to pieces for an inch of corpse strewn land under an eternally grey sky while hordes of peasant conscripts pilfer the dead and flee into the murky forests.

#Art #Illustration #TraditionalArt #Fantasy
Rough and battered battleaxe with a large crescent shaped blade attached to a spherical head by three struts, it has three long backspikes, a metal braced and wrapped up shaft, and a bottom spike on the pommel.

Another goblin axe, you know em, you love em, with a solid head and two backspikes. That spiked circular pommel can be surprisingly handy weapon itself if needs be!

#Art #MyArt #TraditionalArt #Fantasy
As descibed in the text! The handle is curved and the head is a traditional bearded axe head, a wedge with a curve underneath, and the typical spiked banding on the shaft

Made a little collage of my favourite weapon sketches to fight the funk I'm in

#Art #MyArt #Illustration #TraditionalArt #Fantasy
Collage of eight different weapons I've drawn in pencil and ink. Top row: curved kriegsmesser sword, warpick with studded handle, spiked mace with spikes and bracing on handle, axe with long thin head. Bottom row: straight bladed sword with hook shaped handle, spear with spikes below the head, curved handled bearded axe, crescent bladed axe with long backspikes. Each weapon has a worn and battered appearance, each one with spikes and wrapped up handles.

Oh daaang, that guy's getting busy!

But yeah there's this thing that i came up with that i call them "Flying Hedgehogs" because of those big, plane-like backspikes, thought it'd be cool to differentiate.

Recent cool things forced out of my skull and onto innocent paper

Pencil illustration of a wizard firing an energy blast, the heavy shading and scratching gives an impression of intense light and energy in one direction Pencil illustration of a nosferatu style vampire in large robes with a sword and hand stretched towards the viewer, the heavy shading and scratches give a grimy, textured feel Pencil illustration of a wizard with a hand raised to some stars and another hand back with an orb topped staff. The heavy shading and scratches give texture to the loose robes as well as a sense of motion Pencil illustration of a curved battle axe with misshapen crescent blade, curved backspikes, and hastily wrapped handle. The heavy shading, lines, and scratches make it look rough and cruel

They weren't working out with the rest of the design, same for the other shapes you can kinda see (the curse of traditional media!) so they had to go. But I want to try them again, a row of wicked backspikes on something suitably monstrous.

It seems I can't edit it though. I'm so used to Mastodon. I will at least edit it on there.

For here, "Fang the Smilodon is filling the entire universe. He is laying on his back with his backspikes and claws piercing the edge of the universe."

You travel a path at night when suddenly something big seemingly crash lands and glares at you. Its flame markings, somehow runic and somewhat aggressive posture concerns you. Did you make a terrible choice tonight?

#Adopt #OC bought from @talekeeperinari.bsky.social drawn by @luterre.bsky.social
Concept art of the drawing that was originally for @talekeeperinari.bsky.social , but then purchased by myself. Original artist who drew this is @luterre.bsky.social They have a dark body with accents of runic flames across its body, horns, wing/talons, backspikes (Not shown from its mane) and scutes. Potentially an archdragon/Kirin hybrid?

(Cray's backspikes grow outward, threatening to skewer anyone who dares draw near)
Cray: Hell no. I'm NOT getting in a sweater with her. Even if I have to burn down this damnable dream to prevent it!!
Ynn: I'd rather freeze the very time in this dream than cooperate with you.

My twin OCs like having a chill life, but Sonic's world doesn't give that chance to many, which made them go through training to perfect their wind abilities, the tornado you see in Windy Valley might've even been their doing, here's some other examples of their powers!

#SonicOC #SonicArtist
Due to training with Espio, Leowind and Learricane can spindash just like him, even using their big backspikes to cause extra damage! This is Focus Wind, a move where they focus alot of air into a single spot on their finger After 1st touching a Chaos Emerald, the twins get these bracelets that make them able to generate a shield, called the Chaos Shield! When meeting the Chaotix and helping them against Icer, Vector later gave the twins these headphones and microphone, with them, they ended up being able to increase their speed and agility by alot, just from playing a song on them, Learricane having to karaoke to get the same effect! i call this the Music-Up and Sing-Up!
