#Backhanders
Because it will make them money. Backhanders, brown envelopes, benefits from friends. Councillors are not only as thick as two short planks (so they can't see the damage they do), but corrupt and deceitful, so they don't care either. And people continue to vote for them because of the Civil War.

I wonder if @10dowingstreet.bsky.social Burnham got some nice backhanders from them 🤔 as with all his backtracking on what he would do if prime minister

In the UK the BBC will always broadcast more for the organisations and political partys that give the largest donations or backhanders and most of the time since 1979 it has been the rightwing partys and the Murdoch empire.

Is former health secretary Wes Streeting still getting backhanders from the private health sector? #wato
".. vandalism of the Lansley reforms.. fracturing the NHS & treating healthcare as a market chasing profit"

So you're kicking out the private companies, abolishing trusts, scrapping the internal market & returning the NHS to being an integrated national health service, right?

The ALP has had a lot of action on climate change. By approving new fossil fuel projects, extending existing projects and taking backhanders from billionaires... That's what the ALP called action on climate change.

So yes I'm looking at you as being full of it.

What do people think will happen to City? Not what you think should happen what do you think the punishment will actually be? I don’t see the PL having the bollocks to throw the book at them, I’m sure there’s probably backhanders going on already.

Backhanders from the hash marks? Alright then.
September 29, 2026 at 3:39 PM
The system is most definitely "two tier".

It allows posh pricks in tweed, to take massive backhanders from foreign enemies and crypto criminals. While spreading utter divisive horseshit through their side-jobs as far-right talk show hosts and propaganda rag columnists.

I’m beginning to wonder that they’re all in this together! I mean those Republican judges have been getting backhanders ! And during Trumps last coup judge Alito hung the American flag upside down- A symbol used by some supporters of the "Stop the Steal" movement questioning the 2020 election result
Asking The 6 Supremely Corrupt Injustices On Team Trump......?

Tories still chasing the Reform vote, then.

Presumably hoping to scrape up the dregs once Farage finally faces the consequences of his corruption.

And maybe hoping for a few £72m backhanders too.

Bacon at Greggs so crunchy I suspect they are getting backhanders from the dental community.

There's always been a suspicion of backhanders and secret Middle Eastern bank accounts - one of the charges was Mancini being paid extra off the books which was undeclared, so I'd like to see HMRC get stuck into this as well.

They need to feel the full force of what the League and the Law can do.

They don’t need to.

As an adult, you become legally competent to give free rein to your own stupidity.

In respect of gambling, something else that doesn’t become safer with age, successive governments are heavily dependent on firms exploiting that stupidity to keep MPs in backhanders.

If the organs of the State are crooked and corrupt, might it be heroic to be as devious and dishonest yourself to get your way?

Differently families in different areas controlled the supply for sections of road and woe betide anyone who thought they’d join the party The contracts were awarded at the Assizes so you can imagine the lobbying & backhanders. One of my own ancestors controlled a very lucrative section of road…
