The Green Bay Packers’ starting right tackle is changing his name from Zach Tom to Zach Bako-Bewele as a way of paying tribute to his Nigerian ancestry.

Bako Motors, a Tunisian startup, is creating small electric vehicles powered partly by solar energy.

Green Bay Packers starting right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele confirmed Monday that he will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a complete tear of his patellar tendon during Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. It’s the same tendon Bako-Bewele partially tore last year, an injury that already forced him through an extensive rehabilitation process. He’ll now undergo another surgery and faces a long road back. The timing is particularly painful given the commitment Green Bay made to Bako-Bewele just last year. The Packers signed him to a four-year, $88 million extension before the 2025 season, locking up a player they believed would anchor the right side of their offensive line. Since signing that deal, however, Bako-Bewele has seen injuries completely alter his trajectory.  Now the Packers have to figure out how to move forward without their starting right tackle for the rest of the year and Bako-Bewele faces another grueling rehab after working his way back from the initial injury.
