Yeah I didn’t really know about the n64 game until after playing the wii game (and same for bangai o on Dreamcast / n64). I’d have snapped that up on n64 if I’d have had the chance at the time!

There's a really great "Core" boss in Bangai-O that just does nothing and you blow it up and it's quick and fun and wonderful.

was like oh i'll put bangai-o dc on this, it's impossible to play on real hardware and then the flycast emulator freaks the fuck out when i try to set up twinstick controls.

Anything Treasure made is a must
Which means Sin and Punishment, Bangai-O and Mischief Makers (it's a 2D platformer, but it's batshit insane and definitely worth it)

Banjo Kazoo-
In all seriousness, I will always go to bat for Sin & Punishment (Treasure), one of my favorite games for the N64.
If you've played Bangai-O (also Treasure) on the Dreamcast, there's an N64 version that's also worth visiting, it's got some key differences!

Now personally I do love long form action games that actually do this maximalist exploration (Bangai-O Spirits, Angeline Era etc.) but it's pretty rare and hard to do, more often you end up with Doom Eternal's campaign where it just gradually escalates a single scenario for the whole game

Went with Dreamcast specifically, since I'm certain I've done a general 9 before
