Do you have the Barlu scale already?
It's rather easy to get in the village by finding 5 hidden entrances. this should be a big help.
If you stuck in Phase 3 it might help that you can feed mice with treats and they will give you a heart.

I'm excited to share one of my tracks from this year's @vgmcon.bsky.social album jam, hosted by @gamegrooves.com! Barlu Forest is from Under the Island by @slimekinggames.bsky.social, composed by @esoundsignal.bsky.social, and you should check out this fun game and soundtrack if you haven't already!

Didn't got a lot of fan art for Under the Island so far (if you want to do something let me know I share it) however this is a little like fan art and it's a great re-interpretation of one of our most catchy songs.

Specifically, Garig Gunak Barlu National Park of Australia's Northern Territory, where land meets deep water; the name comes from the Aboriginal Australian Garig people's language with gunak for 'land' and barlu for 'deep water' (Dekoninck et al 2007) #2026MMM nt.gov.au/parks/find-a...

I was wondering why the style felt so familiar, but seeing this made me realize he was the Chained Echoes composer, and I'm hyped to see him in more games now. The Barlu forest theme is a new favourite, for sure

Under the Island is, in my opinion, a very good Zelda-like indie game despite its flaws and any frustrations I had. The devs at Slime King Games put a lot of love into crafting this indie over the years. If you're a fan of Zelda games, I recommend this for a challenge!

This is my review for...
The logo for Under the Island can be seen at the top ✅️ The story is about Nia investigating the island and finding a way to prevent it from sinking. There's some mysteries throughout and the final act surprised me. ✅️ Colorful pixel art/animation. The characters and enemies are very cute. Environments are impressive! ✅️ The music is retro-inspired and captures that ‘90s charm. My favorite track is “Barlu Forest”. ✅️ As a Zelda-like game, there are secrets absolutely everywhere, though most are inaccessible at first. ✅️ There's a day/night cycle that doesn't affect the gameplay too much, but it's still nice to see. ✅️ Dungeons are exciting and relatively short. There's only a few, but I wish there were more because they are so well-designed and fun to navigate. ✅️ Puzzles range from simple to very difficult. The last few in the game stumped me so hard to the point that I was frustrated, but I’m so glad I got through them. ✅️ Mini-games include fishing, cooking, coconut golf, snowboarding, and more. Some of these are simple. ✅️ The final boss is not who I expected, but such a great fight and not too difficult with a good strategy. ❌️ The game doesn't explain certain things well and it made me frustrated during a few sections. ❌️ The endgame clean up is a chore with a world map that can be somewhat confusing to navigate. ❌️ While it's likely a design choice, it's too bad there's very little options in the menu. No accessibility or QoL.

Still early on, but Barlu Forest made a great impression between the visuals, the enemies, and the music!
