For those that are curious, I have a detailed breakdown of the general premise of my RejuVacations world and stories. It can be found here:

🚒❤️ Huge thanks for supporting our firefighters, but we don't need support the LA community does.

🚫 Please don’t bring perishable food to basecamps—we can’t accept it.

A spooky season reminder…the Basecamps get a little..festive…around this time.

The Forest of Beginnings remains a relatively safe zone from haunted frights, but don’t be surprised to see a pumpkin wink at you or a stuffed friend from the Build a Buddy start wondering about how good you’d taste…

Linksar Peak 7,041 m. One of the major unclimbed giants of the Karakoram. Wild, untouched, and serious expedition territory. No crowds just glaciers, basecamps, and big mountains.

I love that this devolved into a bikepacking thread about volcanos and ebike basecamps.

Bikes will truly take you unexpected places
If it is wide enough for a car to overtake a bicycle without crossing into the next lane, it is wide enough for a separated bike lane.
If it is not wide enough for a separated bike lane, it is not wide enough for a car to overtake a bicycle without crossing into the next lane.
You can't have both.

DHH: "I absolutely hate Rust"

Also DHH: "I like Rust when AI writes it, so Basecamps backend is now going to be Rust"

Ooh, the basecamps have consoles with lore info about the planets. I really enjoy seeing the impact of the Legion still present a decade on, makes me miss them lol

I'd love if those unknowns filled in the more we discover stuff through quests.

It was a rather wet ride across the lake to our basecamp, but @jedokaplan.bsky.social and I made it. And as far as basecamps go, this will do. In a pinch. #sarcasm 🧪⚒️

For what it's worth, the person who discovered this also backs that it only really affects the basecamps and gathering hub.

He does say there's a slight difference in the locales but considering the hardware he's using is really weak, it's going to be nothing on competent PCs.

Chicago, Denver, and Austin are going to be my new travel spots
Denver and Austin can be Basecamps as I explore areas around those cities
Can't wait to go to Chicago.
No way we remotely see enough in 24 hours

In case you needed the reminder, some basecamps don't require you to sleep on the ground. 😉

Someone at LSU made an interactive map for World Cup bases and hotel. It's almost great, but I can't get it to scroll down. ncbrt.lsu.edu/programs/wor...

Hello #Hedgewatch.
#30DaysWild.
Build a den in the woods, dens make great birdwatching hides and basecamps and are fun!
The Woodland Trust say be considerate builders and leave den building to badgers and foxes in ancient woodland. (In other public woods check for on site guidance.) 😻

Vielleicht kann man den Turnierplan mal als Optimierungsproblem nehmen, welche Paarungen in der KO-Phase am klimafreundlichsten wären, weil die Teams ja unterschiedliche Basecamps haben.

Ok, but maybe we *should* be treating Ivy Leagues as terrorist basecamps? 😂

One of my “if I won the billion dollar PowerBall” things is traveling to various basecamps to See The Mountain, tell it “hi, you’re really beautiful,” and then leave

I have negative need to get to the top, but seeing would be nice

Disappointed that the firehose of emails (posts to Basecamps that should have been Pings instead) has stopped!

Basecamp and hub - I should specify.

The DLC-checking only happens if you're close to that specific palico that gives access to the Steam Store. Which is only basecamps and hub. Performance will be improved there by buying DLC on CPU-limited hardware.

But everywhere else (aka hunts) is the same.

If you're not already following and/or supporting @erininthemorning.com , follow there for critical news and updates. I'll be setting up virtual basecamps and comms, as I do. Let's stand and say NO, and stare unblinking until the fascists fail their Morale Checks. (8/8)

It only drops performance if you're near a very specific palico in the basecamps and hub, and only if your CPU is kind of bad.

Hunts are not affected.

Moscow Bureau Chief of FT: Prigozhin says he is standing down. "The moment has come when blood could be spilled. Therefore, understanding all the responsibility for the fact that Russian blood will be spilled on one side, we are turning our convoy around and going back to our basecamps."

I knew that the various basecamps were trash filled, and obv about the bodies on the trails going up...but I was not aware that

[the literal peak was covered
in trash left by climbers]

What an amazing example of how capitalism encourages rich white sociopaths to ruin humanity's gifts.
