I contacted valve support with two dead Index Basestations, and they responded shortly after saying “yeah both are out of warranty but we are sending you new ones anyway and it’s with a free advanced replacement so just send the bad ones back at some point.” Like. Ok, Kings. I see you.

Finally upgraded to 2.0 basestations. I think my 1s were broken. Like my tracking actually works now. It was to a point where I didn’t even want to get in full body anymore

now i've been at it for a few months i do feel very silly for not giving vr a shot before but also, as far as i'm aware the tech for inside out tracking was a bit iffy before now and i don't have the option for basestations as i've mentioned previously

I've had 4 basestations for years now and it still happens sadly :/ It absolutely helps with blind spots though

I’m honestly kind of glad they failed at this moment since I heard they stopped production.
I hope valve’s next headset will at least support basestations…
