I set off to my fortnightly blood test moaning that I didn't want to have to cycle the 8 mile round trip *again*.

Oh goodness, I got a place on the #LDWA100 next May. I've never walked/ran a hundred miles before.

I'll be setting up a fundraiser for the #BasingstokeCanal Our waterways are in desperate need of support. Where better to start than my local waterway where my love of long distance walking began.

Very low road bridge over the canal, with a cantilever arm/weight on the left hand side, that allowed the bridge to pivot up sufficiently to slow us to pass under. The bridge is down level, so the road barrier on the right hand side is in the up position. And the down position cantilever is pointing up at ~30°.

Perfect running conditions from the ankles up to explore local waterways on a 16 mile loop.

Why oh why can't towpath closures be advertised on the #BasingstokeCanal though. No advance warning signs
Doubling back to find a road diversion does not equal fun.
