#MondayMorningBlues Slim Crompton 33201 departs from Shackerstone with one of the seven round trips to Market Bosworth during the #BattlefieldLine Good Friday diesel running day. We sat this one out to get this departure photo & some lunch in the charming station tearooms. 3/4/26

#MondayMorningBlues Slim Crompton 33201 departs from Shackerstone with one of the seven round trips to Market Bosworth during the #BattlefieldLine Good Friday diesel running day. We sat this one out to get this departure photo & some lunch in the charming station tearooms. 3/4/26
Today @bennybizzle1.bsky.social & I visited the #BattlefieldLine for their 31/33 running day. 33201 on the Bosworth end & this beast, 31459, which was using the day as running in after undergoing repairs here. Both performed excellently from the enthusiasts point of view. Shackerstone 3/4/26

#ShunterSunday Faded #EWS livery #Gronk 08685 standing outside the diesel repair shed at Shackerstone on the #BattlefieldLine on Good Friday. This was one of about 9 or 10 gronks on site, some of which carried numbers & some had them removed so positive ID wasn't possible. 3/4/26

Something rather interesting in the repair shed at Shackerstone on the #BattlefieldLine yesterday. As far as I can work out this is the former 20063 which was exported to CFD in France in the 90s & numbered 2002. Looks to have been repainted in its French orange livery. 3/4/25

It's #Raturday but only just.. this rat has definitely seen better days & currently lives in a siding patrolled by a ruthless railway cat.. 😬 🐀🐈⬛

Northampton & Lamport Railway celebrate purchase of steam locomotive
Northampton & Lamport Railway is celebrating a major acquisition: a historic 0-6-0 saddle tank steam locomotive, No.16, which once powered the Corby Iron and Steel Works. Built in 1934 by Hawthorn Leslie for Stewarts & Lloyds Ltd, No.16 spent its entire working life at the steelworks before retirement in 1969.
