In Part 9 of the SEC deposition of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, investigators press Holmes on internal investor decks, clinical data claims, and marketing materials shared with potential C2 round investors and advisory partners like BDT Capital. Holmes is questioned extensively about: Whether slide decks and method comparison charts (including Ferritin assays) misled investors about the capabilities of the proprietary TSPU device versus commercial analyzers. Unverified claims regarding US government contracts for Ebola testing, Walgreens and Safeway rollout projections, and alleged military deployment on helicopters. Questionable financial projections and revenue targets provided to prospective backers like the Fremont Group and Rupert Murdoch. Her relationship—both personal and professional—with former Theranos COO and President Sunny Balwani, and their shared decision-making during the company's downfall.
