This Halloween be the village! If you are passing out candy this year, consider adding shelfstable kids foods to your treat bucket. With snap benefits delayed some families are struggling more than usual. Let’s support our neighbors in small but meaningful ways. Ideas to include Ramen, cups, protein, bar, chips, or pretzels, microwave, macaroni, and cheese, snack, pudding packs, mini muffins. Every little bit helps keep a child’s belly full and shows that kindness can be just as sweet as candy.

What is one thing upon meeting someone that lets you KNOW you won't get along, I'll go first:

"I don't owe anyone, anything."

Still irks me to this day.

Really cute idea i saw on facebook, reposted into a local (city) group.

The idea is to include shelf-stable snacks and food for kids due to SNAP delays in November.

With many struggling from job loss, loss of services, health issues or the upcoming SNAP delays, consider mixing non-candy options with your Halloween treats

Other ideas - applesauce or fruit cups, instant oatmeal packets, those little cereal boxes in variety packs…
