You know the tour is gonna be legit when the tour guide has his own line of stickers by local artists. Doesn’t look like he’s on Bluesky but really enjoyed the transit and “emotional infrastructure”
Tour with BeardedProf416
Close up on your guide as stickers next to your guide. Tour guide points to architecture in Yorkville Tour guide talks about history outside Royal Ontario Museum Tour guide points to subway map while tour members consider.

First Jane's walk of the weekend was with the beardedprof416 about observing your environment, street art, stickers, and participating in life, really.
A bearded man standing on a picnic table in Grange Park, Toronto, with the back of the AGO behind him. A modern blue building rises above a brick mansion from the early 1800s. He's talking to a group of people, and a Jane's Walk sign sticks out of a backpack in the foreground. The mansion was built in front of a meadow when the city was initially parceled, meaning we are standing somewhere that has never been built on after colonization. Looking down an alley with a block building to the left, the tops of graffiti rags visible, towards the corner of a building wrapped in iridescent panels shining pink to gold. There's a tree with white flowers in the foreground. We're looking over the heads of the tour group in this one because they are all facing us. The shiny building is the Umbra store, if you're curious. A mural in a Toronto alley off Queen and Vanauley, showing an eagle flying over a city by a river, with a brown skinned woman to the side raising her hand. Some of the city skyline is surrounded by flames. Our tour guide said it is in honor of Minneapolis and went up after George Floyd was murdered. A stencil on the sidewalk of 3 fighter jets in formation over the text THIS WAR COST A LOT OF MONEY. This was not part of the tour, except insofar as I was walking to the streetcar after with a renewed attention to what's around me. (Anyone who's walked down the street with me knows I stop to look at things all the time, and yet I learned a few new things to look for tonight. Eyes open, all y'all.)

The #BeardedProf416 led my last walk Saturday, "Toronto's Cultural Corridor", in which he made a very compelling case for #JohnStreet—from the CN Tower to The Grange—as a well-established and vital corridor of Canadian consequence. #toronto #janeswalkto
