The early morning sky is a calm and still milky grey, tumbling into low-hanging clouds just over the firth. The mountains are hidden, and the greens and golds of the hills seem subdued. A few minutes later, and the cloudbank has risen enough to see Wyvis, steady, ever-watching. #BeaufortReport

The summer holidays are over, the girls have gone back to school, and I'm back at work in my study. The house is eerily quiet. Outside, the firth is still as glass and the field heading down the hill to the water is dotted with hay bales. The world is green and gold. #BeaufortReport
