Found another new site for Common Lizards today at Tornaroy, Co Antrim #BelfastHills. Not far from the Divis mountain, so unsurprising but I'd been checking this lane for 4/5 years without success @argroupsuk.bsky.social #ukwildlife #HSI #reptile #lizard #zootoca #northernireland #ireland #nature

First newborn common lizards of the year were spotted during today's @BelfastHills survey visit. Earlier than usual thanks to the warm weather. (1 adult & 2 babies in attached photo - look closely) @DavidGTosh @HerpSocIreland. 4 adults also recorded.

Newborn Common Lizards are out at Slievenacloy too! @BelfastHills @DavidGTosh @HerpSocIreland

A 20 min stop at Slievenacloy @BelfastHills #NorthernIreland (before going on to Peatlands Park) and, at last, a newborn Common Lizard has made an appearance! @UlsterWildlife @DavidGTosh @HerpSocIreland

One of several Common Lizards seen today close to the footpath up to the Long Barn at Divis @NationalTrustNI @BelfastHills. 4 years since construction of the path, the rough grass is fully restored and the lizards are back 🦎🦎🦎 (Looks like this one gave birth recently too!)

It's great when you snap 3 baby lizards on a piece of wood and then later find there were actually 5 in the photo ...plus some shed skin! @UlsterWildlife @BelfastHills @HerpSocIreland

If you've ever wondered what a Common Lizard 'dropping' looks like, here's a rather large example from this morning in the @BelfastHills! (just left of the front lizard). If you find this on your fence post or refugia/tin/ACO, there's probably been a lizard there recently🦎💩

Some are brown and some are green (or a mixture of both). Viviparous Lizards in the @BelfastHills #NorthernIreland earlier today (23 Aug)
