LOL. Found on my phone from my last day in Antwerp.

Admittedly genius marketing, because it made me look and made me take a picture to let social media know… and now I hope I make it back across the channel to look at renaissance tapestries before it closes: www.hofvanbusleyden.be/now-on-show/...

Picture from inside the entrance hall of the central station in Antwerp. There are three double doors, but most notably is that of the three banners for an exhibition about renaissance tapestries hanging above those doors only one is actually hanging the right side up…

Blind Spot (2025), Series: #BelgianSolutions

A large multisegmented window on a red brick building. One of the window panes has been replaced with a plywood rectangle, presumably an ad-hoc repair.

Light well collage II (2025), Series: #BelgianSolutions

This mosaic of light well cover repairs is just next to the previously shown. Here an equally wild mix of chipboard, rusty and non-rusty metal grates and other plates have been used.

Light well collage I (2025), Series: #BelgianSolutions

#StreetPhotography #UrbanPhotography #ThereIFixedIt #BelgianSolution #Belgium #Belgique #Belgie #BelPhoto #BelSky

A covered light well in front of a residential building. The original cover must have been severely damaged over the years. But the "repairs" done to it have reached an almost artistic level. Amongst other elements a rusty metal grate covers one corner, a random wooden piece of plank with wite through it another and in between holes have just been filled in with concrete.

Presumably somebody had the choice of waiting for the authorities to fix the problem and risk severe accidents in the meantime - or coming up with a #BelgianSolution. Which unfortunately wasn't weatherproof.

A big hole in a gutter is covered with broken, flat pieces of furniture to stop cars of getting stuck in it. Unfortunately the cheap furniture pieces were weakened by rain and broke.

Perfect fit 👍 (2025), Series: #BelgianSolutions

#StreetPhotography #UrbanPhotography #ThereIFixedIt #BelgianSolution #Belgium #Belgique #Belgie #BelPhoto #BelSky

A picture of two middle-sized metal grates at the foot of a wall. One of the two grates has been stolen or broken, in any case is missing. It has been replaced by a very rickety looking contruction of a way too small metall cover atop a chipboard. If somebody accidentally steps onto this make-shift cover it is very unlikely not to immediately break.

Si j'en crois le fil, ça fait déjà 2 mois que le panneau "marquage non conforme" est en place 🫠

Albert Lechat @albertlechat.bsky.social · Jul 19
