I do not like BelialVamdemon as character at all, but I really appreciate how he makes Daisuke's character growth shine brighter and show what children really needed and still need to know -- he's a big good role model imo.

Why BelialVamdemon was the final enemy:
As many people know i do not like Vamdemon as the final enemy in 02, though i started to understand the said decision in some recent rewatches. Short answer: it's because of Daisuke's backstory....

Digimon Adventure 02 (JP Version) (Rewatch): Completed. I finished my rewatch of 02’s Japanese and English dub versions. Overall, while the dub had great performances and the usual gag dub flubs, the Japanese version was better and took itself seriously during the dire moments. That said, 02 isn’t bad. It’s not as good as Adventure. The final battle with BelialVamdemon was lackluster and the way they defeated him is still lame. Although there were good messages about not giving up on your dreams. I’m also not big on dropping Demon for no reason and still not followed up even years later. I also don’t like weakening the Adventure kids’ partners to make the 02 ones stronger. I understand this is give the 02 gang their spotlight but this is an overall Adventure and everyone should be more involved in these final battles. The new kids are fine but except for Ken, they’re not as well developed as the original 8. Daisuke/Davis is (or was?) overhated and was a pretty decent leader despite the series’ flaws. The controversial epilogue. Ah yes, it’s not as bad as I remembered (ignoring shipping complaints). Believe me the worst in 02 is nowhere near as bad and contrived as it is in Tri. (which I’ll be revisiting soon) and not as lame as Xros Wars Hunters arc. Its lows are equal with Frontier, Xros Wars, and Ghost Games’ lows. Its highs are almost on par with Adventure and Tamers. It’s the red headed stepchild sitting in between its superior older and younger brothers. That’s not an entirely bad thing. 02 is a mixture of good, bad, and even underrated. Luckily, I watched both versions together and have a more nuanced opinion of the show. If you still have reservations about revisiting, go in with an open mind and try the Japanese version if you haven’t seen it. It has better music (Break-Up and Beat Hit! are banger themes). I just finished rewatching Digimon Frontier and what a trip this show was. This show was equal parts great and mid. The overall idea of kids becoming Digimon didn’t sit well with me at first years ago but it grew on me quickly. Frontier stands out being the most unique for that reason alone. The Frontier kids, while not as fully interesting as the Adventure Chosen and Tamers, are still a charismatic and fun bunch. I enjoyed their growth as humans becoming part Digimon and identifying as Digimon. Also, I’d suggest watching this in Japanese since the music is better here and you’ll get some great voice performances. Heck, the Japanese voices of Freeza and Cell are in this show! Although, I do think the Frontier English Dub intro is the best one and as good as FIRE!! Takuya is also an under appreciated Digi leader. Izumi/Zoe was unfortunately underused and wanted more from her especially after seeing the previous Digimon gals like Sora, Mimi, Hikari, and Ruki. I do wish the other kids outside Takuya and Koji got their Advanced Digimon forms since they’re official. The first 37 episodes are the series’ peak. Through the battles with the Dark Legendary Warriors, especially Duskmon, and Cherubimon are good. There’s maybe an episode or two you can cut out but it’s overall fine. It’s when the Royal Knights get involved that the show declines and staggers. It’s nearly 10 episodes of them trying to stop and losing against the Knights. When they do finally beat them, the series’ true villain, Lucemon, swoops in and takes their Digicodes to make himself stronger. The final battle against Lucemon is good though and I enjoyed seeing Susanoomon again. Jojo reuniting with Koichi was good. Overall, Frontier is better than but also worse than 02 (having watched both shows together simultaneously). I honestly think the final Frontier battle (as rushed as it was) is miles better than 02’s so I give the edge to Frontier overall.

I'm convinced at this point that World 3 is just full of stuff like that.

Because consider this; Devimon, Vamdemon/Myotismon, and BelialVamdemon/MaloMyotismon are all acquirable and are practically an evolution line yet DemiDevimon/PicoDevimon isn't available to the player.
