Primary forests store 83% more CO2 than secondary forests. Primary forests also produce a lot more BVOCs which form half of all cooling clouds on Earth.

It’s insane to base the climate discussion predominantly on physics and not biology. The CO2 pump is biological. Life is biological.

oh that looks great. I was thinking of exploring the belowground interactions between longleaf pine and their oak associates to see what component of it* was mycorrhizal, and this will make for lovely reading toward that.
