Corruption, in plain sight.
Almost all UK politicians are for sale.

Andy's going to say 'yes' isn't he?

Because he is weak like a the last guy.

Vote Green and end this endless Charlie Brown vs Lucy with the Football game we are playing.

@benfulton people need jobs, or basic income. I can see a benefit in small affordable electric trolley vans, if that's all you're going to fill in five minutes. If they had small batteries (1/10th the cost), mostly run on-grid, and allowed gradually building out electrical infra & network.
July 11, 2026 at 8:38 AM
@benfulton @HayiWena do they want urbanist infra tourism, or not?
April 22, 2026 at 6:47 AM
@benfulton Fortunately, that's not the way enclaves (should) work. All I can do is ask the enclave a question, and get an answer -- by design, at the hardware level. (Could there be vulnerabilities in that? Sure. But that's a different class of problem.)
March 22, 2026 at 10:24 PM
@benfulton Technically it's the other way around - the server holds the equivalent of a _public_ key; your local enclave (or security key, etc.) holds the private-key equivalent.

@benfulton everything from watching DVDs/Netflix to email/internet, managing her photos with Shotwell and making small presos and docs and stuff with Libreoffice for e.g her garden club and what not else, honestly impressed with how advanced her usage of it is given her age

When the cars lose their road, the people find another way to get there....

and they discover the new, car-free way is better.
Hammersmith Bridge: Where did 25,000 vehicles go?

This is a super careful and comprehensive analysis of what to do with this bridge that's no longer able to carry vehicles.

"9,000 of those journeys have vanished - not diverted to other crossings, but simply evaporated. Yet the local economy […]

@benfulton It will be fascinating for sure

@benfulton headline failed to mention car-free space, or are those #bollards not for #bancars ?
October 29, 2025 at 7:38 AM
@benfulton

From Jalopnik, no less!

But also they missed the obvious solution: street design that makes car drivers WANT to slow down.

No matter how successful buses are, there WILL still be people who walk. See, .e.g., Toronto.
September 29, 2025 at 1:25 PM
@benfulton there is actually also infrastructure, bollards in particular. But also we spend way too much money on paint, signs, and traffic signals simply to enable killing and maiming people with cars at the current rates.

Sad that he has to dress up the fact that getting around on a bike is so much better, with a load of macho toss. #biketooter

@benfulton Have you left IU for London? Is this an adventure or a return home? Hopefully a positive and exciting move either way!

@benfulton @futurebird
maybe I live in a strange nation, but said nation has had vigorous debates about what children ought to be reading, and what they should definitely not read, for its entire history of nearly 2.5 centuries, and these debates all revolve around fears and hopes about what […]

everything I've read about the spread of literacy has been consistent with the view that literacy among children spread almost as fast as literacy among adults, but the phrase "... there was a sharp line between children, who could not read ..." seems to require a long gap […]

@benfulton In my observation, very few e-bike riders use helmets, and they seem to be far less experienced at bicycling than real cyclists.

@benfulton If that's their response, perhaps you should name the company so that we can avoid them.

@benfulton I wish the Bears would take a lesson from this. First, they ruined Soldier Field, now they're planning to abandon it.

@benfulton

This is exciting! I just saw this neighborhood from the water taxi on Sunday. I am glad they are looking to build the stadium in the city proper instead of out in the suburbs.

@benfulton “They (DOTI) have told us that this was primarily an aesthetic concern, It had to do with making downtown more appealing."

Appealing for WHO?

@benfulton embrace the aesthetic of unbending barriers and steel #bollards

@benfulton I agree that space needs to be taken from cars as opposed to pedestrians. But to be fair, having lived in Phila for a couple of years, many streets are *very* narrow. If you add a bike lane, you need to take the cars off entirely (not a bad idea). But those streets also have very […]
