I enjoyed this a lot. it’s in the style of a silent film (with some foley, and a part with a benshi) which don’t always hold my attention well, but this one did

I believe it’s the way to go with disc media. Steelbook editions are nice too. Even those less affluent will lash out for a nice presentation (about to pay my fat CC account debt which includes Flicker Alley’s ‘Art of the Benshi’)

Arirang has a benshi ending too. MBC aired it in 1998: a gramophone record of a byeonsa narrating the film. no reels anywhere, but there's a man's voice performing it to a room. the screening wheel of Yasui's cart survived when the preservation wheel didn't.

Una de las mejores experiencias que he vivido en un cine. Última restauración de Una página de locura (mucha mejor calidad de imagen y 7 minutos extra) con narración de benshi. Espectacular, intensísima, de esas que al salir te dejan sin palabras.
