I have been prescribed subcutaneous estradiol, bicalutamide and progesterone

If everything goes right I should be able to pick it up from the pharmacy on Monday

I literally refused to go on spiro & I'm so glad I didn't

I wouldn't necessarily recommend bicalutamide either nowadays considering how terrible it is for your liver but it is an alternative, I'm pretty happy w/ mono-therapy rn

bicalutamide is the best option, but it's significantly harder to get prescribed than spiro in the states

I need someone to tell me I'm not insane for thinking bicalutamide would simply work better than spironolactone here

I avoided Spiro like the plague.

When monotherapy wasn't suppressing T for me I went on bicalutamide but I had to fight for it

(this is the same doctor who wanted to take us off bicalutamide because it "causes prostate cancer")
February 4, 2026 at 10:17 PM
my doctor is convinced that bicalutamide will give people prostate cancer and injected estradiol valerate getting your e levels anywhere above 200 will give you blood clots. love how knowledgeable and up-to-date my doctors always are! love the state of trans healthcare!

For T Blockers it's either Bicalutamide as that tends to keep it functional or they really took the "use it or lose it" advice to heart

And guess why you'd use bicalutamide in a trans girl? Because her insurance won't pay for, or the law prevents providing safer medications like Lupron. Bicalutamide is way more affordable when paying out of pocket.

But they don't really care about the safety of trans youth anyway.
