Het onderwijs is misschien wel effectiever en efficiënter geworden, maar niet beter. De blinde vlek is gewetensvorming, schrijft internationaal erkend onderwijsexpert Gert Biesta, en dat is nu juist waar deze tijd om vraagt.

Nyt työn alla Foucaultin tuotanto. Tarkoituksena olisi selvittää, miten Biesta hahmottaa Foucault:n pohjalta vallan analyysiä poliittisessa kasvatuksessa. Luonnollisesti kritisoin Biestaa yksiulotteisuudesta uuden kriittisen poliittisen kasvatuksen teorian pohjalta.

Nyt työn alla Foucaultin tuotanto. Tarkoituksena olisi selvittää, miten Biesta hahmottaa Foucault:n pohjalta vallan analyysiä poliittisessa kasvatuksessa. Luonnollisesti kritisoin Biestaa yksiulotteisuudesta uuden kriittisen poliittisen kasvatuksen teorian pohjalta.

It gets at everything I've been posting from Biesta: it's assumed that every educational intervention is positive without any regard for the purpose or impact on other values and purposes.
For me, Biesta reconciles the tension between what I see in schools (that successful teaching and learning can take any number of forms) and what I encounter in policy conversations (that there is one best way to teach and learn).

I often get frustrated and end up being negatively polarized when I see systemic narrowing of the possibilities of schooling & pedagogy toward the efficient ends & means of testing. I agree with Dewey and Dewey-scholar, Gert Biesta, that this narrowing is harmful & self-refuting in the long-run.
In a nutshell: education, learning, & schooling are complex phenomena, and our models for thinking about them should be as expansive as the task itself. We do ourselves and the goal of education a disservice by excluding or limiting our vision to any singular domain!

Reading Biesta's "Good Education in an Age of Measurement", and so far it's a pretty great summary of his ideas about the purpose of education, the role of evidence, & "the hegemony of the technical-managerial approach" to accountability that have been very influential for me.

I dag lærte jeg om Parks-Eichmann-paradokset.
Først definert av Biesta i 2020.
Paradokset viser til at mens Eichmanns skolegang var vellykket fordi han senere gjorde det som var forventet av han, var Parks sin manglende fordi hun _ikke_ fulgte instrukser. Men moralsk sett er det motsatt.
