Did Sunday roast and a trip to the Shakespeare’s globe gift shop with my sweet sweet friend and old co-worker Dani! Who also surprised me and took care of lunch. Thanks Dani! So great to catch up! #JimmyInTheUK #BillyShakes #SundayRoast

other people explain it better than me, but my main issue is the casting of another white man as Heathcliff in 2025
billyshakes on reddit: The cast for the leading pair just aggressively does not make sense on multiple levels unless she’s doing some kind of eccentric modern transposition of the story. As someone who actually does like the novel I’ll be bummed if/when this is not a good adaptation because these things only get like one chance per decade to be screen-adapted, and often less than that if we’re talking theatrical releases. (Unless we’re talking about Jane Austen’s Emma which somehow ended up with three versions between 1995-1996.) flight of wonder on reddit: I wanna give this a chance because I thought Promising Young Woman's a fantastic film and even if Saltburn wasn't my kinda film, I can acknowledge that the technical aspects of the film, such as the cinematography, were extremely masterful and that Fennell's a strong director. That said, despite Wuthering Heights being a book I deeply love, but I can't help but be kind of worried about this film. I hope I'm wrong and that the film turns out to be a good adaptation, but Fennell casting a White person like Elordi as Heathcliff is extremely disappointing when his identity as a POC is a major part of the book's storyline. I'm frustrated at how often Hollywood takes away opportunities from POC actors, and this makes me worried that Fennell isn't gonna be faithful to what Brontë tried to do with the story and a reply from sumerislemy: And Margot is too old. It’s not as big a deal but also very much is. Cathy is supposed to be 19, she’s supposed to be young and tragic and naive.
