Like, is there *anything* that it's best to manufacture on Gleba besides agricultural science and biochambers? I guess carbon fiber is probably the real end-game here, but stack inserters don't really feel like they're gonna solve any problems for me *outside* of Gleba, even at 500 spm, so idk
September 11, 2026 at 9:44 AM
Honestly? Design a small modular setup that supplies nutrients and removes spoilage from ~4 biochambers, then just replicate that over and over. Once you know what parts it needs, you can import them in bulk from Vulcanus.

Thank you, BioChambers!
SIVB 2026 appreciates Robert Pauls for joining us in Reno and supporting the in vitro biology community. BioChambers manufactures research-grade chambers and rooms for plant growth, tissue culture, insect rearing, environmental studies, and other life-science applications.

Biochambers in factorio should produce spoilage as a byproduct because the critter inside of it definitely poops a lot when you force it to eat brightly colored gloop to make different brightly colored gloop
July 5, 2025 at 8:26 PM
oh and the biochambers consume nutrients *instead of* electricity. meaning module energy costs/savings apply to the nutrient use. there's a lot i missed abt gleba and idk that any of it makes it seem less daunting

I'm sorry to tell you that Foundations are an Aquilo tech, you will need to endure Gleba first

Protip though: Tesla weapons annihilate the Gleba wildlife, also don't start your actual Gleba factory until you've planned it well and gotten a fair amount of Biochambers

These builds are getting pretty neat now that I'm getting the hang of em. Just these six buildings should be able to make as much rocket fuel as I was making just to get off Nauvis. Doing some truly wacky shit with belts and inserters.

Factorio: We FINALLY have nuclear power going. And made it Aquilo. We also installed another mod that gives us planet-native ways to make nutrients, so biochambers are viable off-Gleba.
"But Claire, they already were, just import bioflux--" No

i was confused about gleba and so i watched a video about it and now im just all like “ohhhhhhh okayyy”
Like using assemblers with spoil to make shitty nutrients to get the good nutrient recipes coming back since biochambers need nutrients to eat to run, and then the uses of nutrients and spoill

Still trying to understand how to use biochambers for production in Nauvis.

Anyway if you hate yourself and want a challenge, try setting up a full-uptime gleba science factory using only biochambers to produce nutrients
October 27, 2024 at 1:40 AM
gleba is very cool. the biofactory and dealing with spoilage is fascinating and would probably be a huge pain in the ass if i didn't bootstrap my base with a couple hundred rare +10 speed logistic bots delivered from nauvis. now i'm power locked and thinking about importing a nuclear plant.

Anyone plant friends have opinions on biochambers vs. percival growth chambers? 🌾
October 13, 2023 at 3:01 PM
I think I'll be able to export biochambers and bioflux soon which

I really need for a lot of stuff, like improving oil processes on vulcanus, getting started on biolabs on nauvis, and most importantly spidertron
December 1, 2024 at 3:52 PM
Checked with a calculator how many legendary biochambers + beacons + modules are actually needed to process one fully stacked belt of jelly from jellynuts

It was

Less than one.
July 30, 2026 at 1:33 PM
💭 shit. the reason biochambers have productivity is so that they're definitely worth using for processing your fruit. which also makes it *really hard* to automate it right away, when you're Say. Starting On Gleba
