A new species of the Diptera family Sciomyzidae (marsh flies, or snail-killing flies) is described from Mongolia. A male specimen of Pherbellia debreei Mortelmans, 2025 was collected during an expedition in 2019.

4-6th June, visited peat bogs protection and restoration project at Mungunmorit (Töv province, Mongolia), by #WSCC Mongolia. Such projects cannot be done without proper monitoring. BioMongol will take up monitoring of insects and teach local scientists to perform collecting. (1/2)

New #craneflies are recorded from #Mongolia, as a result of our entomological expeditions. Five (5) of those are first records from Mongolia.
Combining adventure and science leads to valuable additions to the known entomofauna of Mongolia.

FIVE (5!) #Tachinidae species NEW TO SCIENCE, described from #Mongolia.
On top of it, 67 species are recorded for the first time from Mongolia.
Not only are our expeditions fun, they deliver important additions to the knowledge of Mongolian #entomofauna.
