Like I said, the problem with conspiracy theories about supposed bioweapon research (and the depiction of bioweapons in fiction) is:
- Most diseases make bad bioweapons
- Anthrax is basically a perfect bioweapon already, so there's little reason to research anything else

This is why at this point I firmly of the belief the appropriate WMD/arms control shorthand for AI is bioweapons. These things are proving uncontrollable, unpredictable, and possessed of a nasty boomerang habit.
