Quick digital sketch of a Northern Shrike sitting on top of its prey, an immature Yellow-rumped Warbler. The shrike is a slightly larger songbird with a black mask, black hooked beak, barred gray and whitish underparts, and black wings with bold white patterns. The dead warbler is on its back in the grass, is generally streaky brown and white, and has a yellow patch at the side of the breast.
