Ohhhh this looks like a really interesting weekend project! Everyone loves the Merlin BirdID app but this looks next level :-)

Headed out this a.m & this terrifying Buzzard caused me to slam on the brakes.😱
First I thought must be a male Pallid Harrier or Rough-Legged Buzzard, but as bins were raised, clear it was Common Buzzard. Leucistic, rather than pale morph, will be a problem when picked up elsewhere. #birds #birding

iNaturalist is telling me this is a razorbill. Can anyone confirm? Have always wanted to see one, would be thrilled if so. Spotted off Cromer, Norfolk.

Is this a Song Sparrow? The behavior seems different. #BirdID

I have tons of video right now. I will post them on this thread

#BirdID Looks like a crow with a gray tuft around the neck and back of the head. Attempts to ID via online searches said "maybe it's just a crow" and I haven't ruled that out, but I don't think I've seen one like that. Pacific NW.

What do you mean 'unlikely here today'?

The Canadian Geese woke me up going overhead enroute to the ponds & I'm literally looking at House Finches on the tray feeder right now.

House Finches are here year round, & the geese raise a family on the ponds every year.

'Not likely in my area' 😆

Classic shape in level flight there - the amount of flex at the carpal created this silhouette. Here’s a montage I made from a variety of online sources as part of a (failed😭) submission I made for a bird I saw in Edinburgh a few years’ ago. A diagnostic shape IMO #birdID

Thrilling surprise visitor in the garden just now...we think possibly a Willow Warbler, what does the hive mind think?
Any ID help @rspb.bsky.social?

Unfortunately blurry shot, but kinda nice to see the size and proportion differences between the Yellowlegs species. #birds #shorebirds #BirdID

This interesting wag turned up at Inch Lake today. Has to be either Grey-headed or Black-headed. Tricky buggers at this time of year.

looking for a bird ID! pix taken in Corsica, October, along the west coast (near propriano, i think). it's about the size of a finch or sparrow (long shot, so hard to tell) but i haven't matched it up to anything with those yellow bits...

Crow, rook or raven? Can you tell them apart? 🤔
Ravens are huge (wingspan ~1.5m)
Rooks nest in noisy rookeries
Crows are clever problem-solvers (hooded crows are only found in W Scotland, Isle of Man & Ireland). More 👉️ buff.ly/2OdJv6d #BirdID

Fea's Type Petrel from Cork, start of August. Did my best to grab frames from the publicly available video, but of course, the quality is awful. Still...to me this seems like a reasonably strong billed bird. Are others seeing something I am not? #irishrarebirds #BirdID #birds #birding #seabirds

Mystery bird call in Penicuik yesterday - it was calling repeatedly but invisibly from trees over a river but seemed to be moving around like a warbler - seen in flight slim and pale underneath and size of willow warbler. Any matches or suggestions? #BirdID
