Migratory waterbirds need habitat in the fall and spring. BirdReturns is trying to provide that habitat and using community science data to do it.
Why does this sampling work matter? Because #shorebirds rely on food sources like #invertebrates to fuel their long migrations. Food is a key part of the habitat puzzle & measuring invertebrate abundance helps us gauge how well the habitat created through #BirdReturns is meeting the needs of birds.
