Doug Burgum announced Bitzero Blockchain Inc. was buying the long-abandoned Safeguard Missile Site Radar complex in Nekoma for $250,000 and would convert it into a mine for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. That mine is currently operational at 30 MW (10% of capacity).

The mine/data center is now operational.
Is it actually though? I was there in July 2025 and there was absolutely no activity and there were For Sale signs up. Also the CEO of BitZero who originally had plans for the site was tied to a murder investigation and has since resigned.
