Lonely Bjargtangar lighthouse, set on the cliffs of Látrabjarg in northwestern Iceland and offering fantastic views of puffins. It's the westernmost building in Europe.

Hoher steiler Felsen im linken Teil des Fotos, auf der Oberseite mit Gras bewachsen. Im rechten Teil des Bildes das Meer, grau bis blau, heller werdend mit der Entferung. Westlichster Punkt Islands, Ende Europas Auf dem Steilfelsen ein Papageientaucher (Teil einer ganzen Kolonie).

Close-up of a beautiful Atlantic Puffin at the beautiful Bjargtangar Lighthouse located on the cliffs of Látrabjarg in NW Iceland. It marks the westernmost point of Iceland & westernmost building of Europe. The cliffs are popular for Puffins and the weather was great.

Close up of atlantic puffin looking left. It's outer beak is dark orange, then has a band of yellow, and then a black triangle basically near the head. The head is mostly white with a wide racing band of black over the top. The eyes are dark, and has an odd triangle kind of shape around it as if the lower eyelid was large and the upper is small. There are tiny bright orange "cheeks" where the beak opens that look odd but are small and actually easy to ignore if you're not looking for them.

Je prévois être à Bjargtangar, au Nord-Ouest du pays. Ce sera le point le plus près de l'éclipse. Et c'est aussi le point le plus à l'ouest de l'Europe.
