Bladestorm - Rando Sketch
One that's truly special to me - Bladestorm!
Secretly last in Koei's Kessen series, trading Japanese history for European. The Hundred Years War, mangled Dynasty Warriors style. Pure dumb strategy-lite fun. Overhauled over the PS360 version.
Usually VERY overpriced. Often under £15 in sales though

Just noticed that Bladestorm: Nightmare is once again at a decent price - only for the next 35h though. Possibly my favourite 6/10 game of all time.
The last of Koei's Kessen series, but mangling European history. Think Dynasty Warriors but you're controlling several regiments instead of one guy.

Here are 9 games that fundamentally changed me.
Just noticed that Bladestorm is on sale again, putting it at a reasonable price (seriously, WTF Koei?) - one of my favourite PS360-era oddball games, overhauled and doubled in length on PC.
It's like Kessen spliced with Dynasty Warriors - regiment-scale action strategy combat. Quite sandboxy.

Can you imagine how TERRIBLE it would be if a foreign game studio went and mangled MY country's history into some kind of surreal anime knights n' successions soap opera?
Oh yeah, Koei did that and it was rad. Very underrated game. Wishlist it and wait for one of the (infrequent) deep discounts.

Bladestorm is on sale again! A rare event.
One of my all-time favourite 6/10 games. An action strategy game that does for the Hundred Years War what Dynasty Warriors did for Chinese history: Completely mangle it.
Heavily expanded over the original 360 version.

also I'm late to the complaining party but this is garbage. forcing me to pick between Avatar or Bladestorm when Bladestorm is basically essential for Slayer is beyond stupid. really hope @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com changes this because I'd like Fury to feel super fun again please and thank you

Taking a break from the list with a real sicko's pick - Bladestorm: Nightmare. One of Koei's wierdest games. A regiment-level action-strategy game (think Dynasty Warriors but you control 30 guys at once) set in a gloriously mangled version of the Hundred Years War.
Usually overpriced. $15 for now.

Speaking of weird decade+ old games that only go on sale rarely, Bladestorm: Nightmare is going cheap, and is a guilty pleasure favourite of mine.
Arguably the final game in Koei's action-strategy Kessen series. A remarkably intricate but meatheaded Japanese interpretation of the Hundred Years War.

Bladestorm: Nightmare! Not the cheapest even at 75% off, but a weird personal fave. The Dynasty Warriors team went and made something completely oddball here - regiment-level action strategy game set in the Hundred Years War. This version has a second, fantasy-themed campaign and new squad controls.
