A small barbershop is still open at the evening during a heavy rain. There are no clients, because most people stay put in such weather. Otter Otto, one of the employees, is sitting behind the counter, reading newspaper. His colleague Iguana Iggy is cleaning the floor and got distracted looking at the window. - My, what a downpour! - he finally said. - Better than heat, I guess... - I think we can call it a day, I doubt anybody will go out in such weather, - He continued, walking to the door. Hearing this the shop's manager, old muskrat named Max, got an idea. - Yo, man, check this out! - He whispered to Otto. - Speaking of heat, have you heard the story of Matchstick Head? - He asked Iggy, who was just reaching for "Open" sign. Iggy instantly forgot what he was doing. - No, what about it? - It all happened when I started working here. It was a normal day, rain just passed, and some clients got here to fix their hair. As Max says that, we are transported to the good ole days, when Max is young and has a spectacular moustache. A barber rat is fixing hair of a client, while Max cleans up. It's sunny and idyllic outside.

Bald is beautiful!
And normal for blue jays (and cardinals) this time of year. Bluey is rocking the 'catastrophic molt' look, dropping all her head feathers at once. This happens in late summer, coinciding with the availability of fatty seeds and food abundance, allowing them to be replaced fast.
