There are people hang gliding off the Blorenge today.

I cannot tell you how long it took my menopausal brain to remember what it was called.

"Air wings? Wing gliding?"

H: I mean nothing rhymes with orange.
Me: Except blorange.
H: What?
Me: The color. A portmanteau of blond and orange. But I don't count portmanteaus.
H: A-HA!
Me: Which is why I count The Blorenge, a hill in Wales.
H: WELL then!
ME: Curple, Hurple and blurple. I don't count blurple either.

Yeah. Went up the Blorenge. Easy one with a car park on the top. Just over a mile to where I camped. Class place.

Lads done a 9 hour shift then went hay baling, must be knackered, but this was the view. Sugarloaf and Blorenge mountains in the distance.

'Golygfa Fawr - A Big View' - Well there are lots of big views from Pwll-du, near Blaenafon really. Mynydd Blorens (The Blorenge) was spectacular yesterday afternoon, just grand.

Cloudy now, the massive Blorenge overlooking Abergavenny: more archaeological site than mountain given its history, with ancient settlements plus inclines and trackways connecting old mines & quarries going back many centuries

How about nearby mountain ‘The Blorenge’ (but as it’s a challenge you’re not allowed to rhyme it with ‘orange’)
June 8, 2026 at 2:49 PM
ah the cloud-kissed Blorenge, how I miss that view
