This could have been so much worse - one or both of the #ArkaigOsprey chicks could have been pulled overboard. Fortunately their mum #Dorcha is a formidable opponent and saw off the intruder #Blue9A6, 2024 fledgling from nearby #LochFleet. Same area as 2022 #Aurora #Blue536, they could be sisters!
A talon to talon tussle as Dorcha fights off a younger osprey intent on taking over her nest at Loch Arkaig Pine Forest.
The pair locked talons and tumbled overboard, while the two chicks sensibly kept their heads down. No harm done but the intruder has persisted.
