Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher. At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.97% to hit a new 5-year high. The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which rose 4.26% or 1.14 points to trade at 27.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (BME:ACX) added 3.18% or 0.32 points to end at 10.39 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS) was up 2.51% or 1.50 points to 61.35 in late trade. The worst performers of the session were Indra A (BME:IDR), which fell 3.23% or 1.18 points to trade at 35.40 at the close. Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) declined 0.96% or 0.16 points to end at 16.47 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) was down 0.93% or 0.24 points to 25.52. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 120 to 68 and 20 ended unchanged. Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.61% or 20.90 to $3,454.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $64.42 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $66.93 a barrel. EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.87. The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 98.09.
