I'm surprised so many of these structures on New Mexico's eastern plains remain standing. A couple hours later, I reported a lightning triggered brush fire about 10 miles from this location. Fortunately, the rain doused it.

Cloud-to-ground lightning strike descends from the dark base of a thunderstorm over the Carrizozo Volcanic Field Campground in New Mexico.
