Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

Used bookselling is WILD. Some days you get a donation with 100% great titles. Other days, you get a massive donation where the first box you pull is full of titles that melt your brain.

all of this Bill O'Reilly crap is going straight to recycling lmaooo

A COMPANY THAT STARTED AS AN ONLINE BOOKSTORE, THAT WENT ON TO DO IMMEASURABLE DESTRUCTION TO THE PUBLISHING AND BOOKSELLING INDUSTRY, THAT NOW PROFITS FROM HUMAN DEATH AND CONCENTRATION CAMPS, IS NOW BUYING AND PHYSICALLY DESTROYING AS MANY RARE BOOKS AS THEY POSSIBLY CAN.
EXCLUSIVE: 404 Media placed a tracking device in a shipment of rare books to see which AI company was buying it, and found an Amazon facility where Amazon scans and destroys books. @evystadium.bsky.social has more.

There's a situation unfolding in the land of online bookselling that I haven't discussed primarily because I have little information to share.

An unknown company is making multi-volume purchases, and when I say multi-, I mean some of us have been getting 500 orders a week.

For REALLY random books.

Hello BlueSky! We are Kirsty and Natalie, we opened our lovely little shop in Southbourne, Dorset about seven and a half years ago, but have both been in bookselling since the nineties. We are also over on Instagram and Facebook.

Our personal horror story? 😧 Indie bookstores closing their doors because of big tech and corporations that prey on small businesses, don't pay local taxes, and want to monopolize the bookselling market.
