We kept them around at Bookmans in case a storm knocked out power & we had to ring people up old-school. Used a couple times for that exact circumstance while I was there.

Oh I love that. When I worked the trade counter at Bookmans in AZ, we saw some weird shit come in with boxes of books & games (worst I ever had was a live black widow spider) but that tops them.

It was weird being in a good, largeish indie bookstore again. So many authors on the shelves I didn't know. Which, yeah, I haven't been a bookseller for nearly 20 yrs, but damn. I felt like an impostor just being in the kind of space that used to feel like home, like when I was at Bookmans in AZ.

I’m convinced book sellers who intentionally put price or discount stickers on the book covers themselves actually hate books and their readers because WHY EVERY TIME WITH THE STICKERS?! 😭😭😭
