Winter may seem quiet, but nature is still there.

At Hampton Nature Reserve, species like this common lizard are hidden away in hibernacula.

Abby from our #BostonAndBeyond project recently visited our Peterborough reserves to explore these habitats.

Cold days at our #BostonAndBeyond sites ❄️

The team can be seen here carefully melting pond ice to allow access for wildlife.

Melting, not smashing, reduces temperature shock for pond life.

Our #BostonAndBeyond team joined Boston Woods Trust at Jenny’s Wood to clear encroaching reeds from two restored ponds.

June means UK reptiles are emerging from hibernation and breeding season is underway.

Basking areas like the new bund (to the right of this pond) at Frieston Shore provide vital habitat.

Create your own with slate, felt or corrugated tin in a sunny spot.
