My partner is back in Perth from the UK now, and with him is a painting I bought in a local vintage shop. 🖼
It's such a great example of a representational industrial landscape with a folk art kinda flavour. It's got a slight surreal feel to it as well.

I’m currently working on a new #linocut, one that’s been in my head for 20 years, when I took the photos. The former Twyfords factory in #Stoke-on-Trent was being demolished and these two lime kilns were being preserved. This is one of the 3 versions that are in progress: #BottleKilns #printmaking

Today marks the anniversary of the last day (in 1978) that a Potteries bottle oven was kindled and fired for the last time.
At the height of the pottery industry, approximately 2,000 of these iconic structures dominated the city’s skyline. Now, only 47 remain.
