adelaide keeps resting with a few legs in a somewhat curled position that make me nervous, but then i touch her lightly with a brush and she's perfectly fine. little stinker 🤭 #spider #tarantula #brachypelma #brachypelmaalbiceps #arachnophiles

i added a great big patch of moss to adelaide's enclosure just in case she'd like somewhere soft to rest. i've only seen her on it once so far, but that's enough for me 🥰 #tarantula #brachypelmaalbiceps

adelaide's new enclosure! 💖
i kept some things she was really attached to from her previous owner, and tried to add a bunch of differently textured spots for her to hang out on since she loves to sit on her log so much. i hope she likes it!! 😊 #tarantula #brachypelmaalbiceps
A large tarantula enclosure. This tarantula prefers to sit out in the open, so I gave her a variety of different textured areas to sit on. There is various hiding spots and places for her to burrow as well if she ever decides to. There are logs, fake plants, a big moss patch, a stone pathway for her to explore.

adelaide is checking out her new bonus log! i decorated it with vines to make it a different texture than her special log, which i dare not alter. she doesn't seem to mind that there's a little hot glue visible 🤭 #tarantula #brachypelmaalbiceps
A tarantula is perched on a cork round. Fake vine is glued to the cork round so that it dangles off the edge and gives the hiding spot underneath a little more cover and mystery.

adelaide has the cutest little tuft of hair between her eyes! i'm sure the others do too, but it's especially visible on her because of the color contrast 🤗 #tarantula #brachypelmaalbiceps
A close up of a tarantula with a golden carapace and darker hair everywhere else. There is black hair around her eyes, and in between her eyes is a tuft of slightly longer hair. It kinda looks like a goofy little mohawk. A picture of the same spider from a little farther away. Her little tuft of hair is still visible due to the way the light is hitting it.

A female Brachypelma Albiceps tarantula. She is mostly black, but the top of her cephalothorax is a nice golden color, and her abdomen has red hairs on it. The common name for this kind of tarantula is fittingly the Mexican Golden Red Rump Tarantula.
