❓ How do neuronal assemblies coordinate language production?
🧠 We investigate language representations in 8 tiny (3.2×3.2 mm) cortical patches from 2 patients implanted with 64-electrode arrays by BrainGate, as they produced ~20K sentences.

New research from Brown University’s BrainGate clinical trial is offering new insights into how the brain responds when people watch others perform physical actions — findings that could help inform the next generation of brain-computer interfaces for people with paralysis.
Brain-computer interface study sheds light on neural activity during observation, or 'mirror neurons'
A study provides new details about how the brain’s motor cortex reacts when people watch actions by agents that may appear more human, or less.

Braingate. Where is @jaketapper.bsky.social on the story of the mentally unfit president? What body part did Trump got an MRI on? Oh right Jake “works” for CNN, he only cared when it was Biden.

Braingate researchers have found that observational activity is tied to how human-like the hand performing an action appears to be. Understanding how the brain "plans and executes" actions like these help inform the next generation of implantable BCIs, they say. www.brown.edu/news/2026-09...

For your other question I am also not an expert but BCI research in humans is doing some incredible stuff. I heard a talk from someone at BrainGate and their work was mind blowing. Wrt animal implants, there are loads of stimulation/inhibition studies (check out holographic multiphoton optogenetics)
