#BrainTumourAwarenessMonth
Now to show support for the wonderful staff and teams at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre for the stellar help Rufus got. We always do an annual cancer charity walk, this was art I did 2 years ago for Brain Tumour Awareness Month…

Too many people with brain tumours face huge gaps in care & support. At The Brain Tumour Charity’s event for #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth, I met those affected & heard their stories.

We must push for better treatment, research & care for all.

This is Rufus, he is my awesome amazing husband, been married for almost 8 years and been together for almost 15 years.
And why are all the pictures monochrome?
Six months after this photo from our wedding was taken he was diagnosed with a brain tumour…

We were stunned but luckily they said it was a SCHWANNOMA which is benign. Unfortunately it’s wrapped inside a nerve cluster that affects the muscles of the throat so there no chance of removal via surgery…

He suffered severe headaches and sickness for a long time during the treatment, but never once did he say that he wanted to stop. Every day he went with needles, samples, MRI’s, radiation he kept going…

His only option was radiotherapy, intense radiotherapy. So for six weeks he had to go everyday to the cancer clinic to have what doctors called a GAMMA KNIFE which is a concentrated beam of radiation to the spot of the tumour to try and shrink it…

As we near the end of #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth the need for change is more desperate than ever.
Through the #BeMoreLaura foundation we'll keep campaigning & funding vital research into #Glioblastoma because no family should ever experience this utter devastation.

Did you know...

Brain tumours are the biggest killer of children and adults under 40 in the UK?

This #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth I am helping
@braintumourcharity.bsky.social raise awareness of this complex and often left behind disease.

It’s #braintumourawarenessmonth. This week I spoke to Brain Tumour Research in Parliament about improving outcomes for everyone living with brain cancer and widening access to vital treatments.

Some moments change your life forever.
I just wanted to share this audio clip from #TheStarsWillStillBeThere - the very first inkling that something was amiss.

Like so many other families, we thought brain tumours happened to other people but we were horribly wrong.

March is #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth, and I've joined MPs from across the political spectrum in signing a letter to the Health Minister, urging that those affected by brain tumours are not left behind in the government's upcoming 10-year Health and Cancer Plans. 👇

I didn't hesitate to sign this cross-party letter to the Health Minister, to ensure those affected by brain tumours are not left behind during the government's 10-year Health and Cancer Plans.

This March, more than 1,000 people in the UK will be diagnosed with a brain tumour.

That’s why we’re raising awareness and supporting life-saving research to give patients and families hope. 💛
