Abba's in the OR. Surgery should take about 8 hours (they have to remove the LVAD first, and then do the transplant). Fingers crossed. 🤞🏽

Aight we at the hospital, got a room, and already spoke with his transplant doctor.

We're still waiting for full confirmation on the donor side, but things are looking promising. 🫶🏽

Just heard from the surgeon and no complications! He said the new heart is strong and Abba did well!!

He'll stay sedated and intubated in the Cardiac ICU overnight and they'll try to have him awake by some time tomorrow.

What a relief!!!!

Stand down. Twas a successful dry run.

Wasn't given much detail beyond "transplant heart not viable."

They'll reverse Abba's sedation and intubation in the AM, with discharge hopefully Saturday.

Good practice. Because it's gonna happen.
