What a tune! Think first time I heard it was on Brithop and Amyl House.

It feels like there's a new beer style emerging in the UK - new, English Pale or Brithop IPA or WyePA???

On cask
but stronger - 4.5-6%,
Some bitterness
between "a bit hazy" to "somewhat murky",
key #hops are Ernest and Harlequin but always mixed with others from Olicana & Bullion to Mosaic

I get it. CBA with a lot of their output. But on the other hand, I fucking love some of it. Was never a fan of the BritHop/Big Beat/Amyl House stuff. Always struck me as dance music for drunk Leeds fans. But their Brixton Academy gig in 1999 was one of my favourite ever.

one time when playing apex with the crew a brithop conversation came up and they had only kind of heard of the streets and I said maybe you've heard other songs

when I said let's push things forward they thought I was serious, ran out of cover, and got perforated

The challenge is to choose 20 album covers that greatly influenced you. One cover per day, for 20 days. No explanation, no reviews. Just covers. And descriptive alt text.

Girl From Mars - Buxton / Brithop - 4.8% ABV. B++, superb brew made with Harlequin hops. Fruity, hoppy, hint of summer sweetness and alight peppery, bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

3.5/5. A session NEIPA made with British Hops that really works. Sessionable.

A hip hop loving pal of mine took me along to watch Marxman playing in a small club in Edinburgh in '93. Was not exactly knowledgeable of the genre but they won me over. Danced all night.

Marxman - Father Like Son
Marxman were a Marxist hip-hop group with two MCs. Their lyrics expounded socialism and an end to economic and social injustice. Their first single, "Sad Aff...

Brauerei Gesellschaft Brithop… Girl from Mars…. I‘ve seen what you did there…!

No, it's Lol Hammond (who had a hand in lots of the BritHop/Breaks stuff around then) and Nina Walsh. BRA were something like 66% of Pop Will Eat Itself I think.

The ultimate goal is to attract other LGBTQIA voices like Angelina Luna and a very funny Brithop lad called King Drift. Books and other fun stuff coming down the line, but this is the labels first year of releases, which no one listens to so I wouldn't worry.
