A dimly lit scene on one of Amsterdam’s bridges: a man is walking towards a lit kiosk in the dark, perhaps to buy a late-night snack. To the right, the lit windows of a canal-side house are visible.

Bonjour. 🇫🇷 Dans les rues de Paris, France. Look at what ‘heavy traffic’ looked like around #ArcDeTriomphe in the centre of #Paris in the eighties.

One of the most impressive places I have ever visited, #Hiroshima in #Japan, where humanity once thought it necessary to drop the first atomic bomb. Images of The #AtomicDome and the #PeaceMemorialMuseum are etched in my mind.

The Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima, Japan was nearly directly under the atomic bomb that exploded at 8:15 am, August 6, 1945. The remains of the building are still standing in the city center next to the Peace Memorial Park & Museum.

Browsing old stuff, this is what I came across. Look at that beautiful, fragile air mail writing paper and matching envelope. Where I happened to be on this day 37 years ago…
