If in the Haymarket area, the Brumus Bar in the #HaymarketHotel @Firmdale_Hotels is very pleasant for a pre-show drink or more. Attentive service, generous and delicious peppermint tea and filter coffee, about £6 each. Far nicer than most coffees shops nearby, feels the monkey.

Lunchtime walkies with the doggies was er muddy. But least it’s not flooded like some of northants. The pug was not happy getting her paws muddy 🙃 #RescueDogs #walkswithmydogs

RFK Jr claims his dad was wearing tennis sneakers though. The other guys eventually dropped out (and I think Brumus didn't finish either). RFK Sr made it to Harpers Ferry (not Camp David) in 17:50. His feet were sore but he recovered in time to go ice skating with his kids the next day.

Even JFK's younger brother Robert got into the act. He decided on impulse to start in the early morning on Feb 9 1963, dragging 4 DOJ colleagues and his Newfoundland dog Brumus with him. Accounts vary -- he supposedly was wearing leather Oxford shoes when they started down the snowy path.
RFK Jr mentions that walk in his memoirs. The family was waiting for dad to finish. He started at 5 AM and I guess after he got to Harpers Ferry, he got a ride up to Camp David. RFK Jr (age 9) wrote that he saw Bobby Sr. come in and "collapse on the bed". Ethel was concerned by his blistered feet.
