Good morning from on board the #Vienna 🇦🇹 to #Zurich🇨🇭#ÖBB #Nightjet 466. Waking up at #Buchs SG, the first stop in #Switzerland. Breakfast is being served in the cabin by the lovely sleeping car attendant. We pass a future #Stadler #Kiss #Cityjet, awaiting delivery to ÖBB and, later on, Lake Zurich.

Concluding today’s voyage with dinner in the #EuroCity #Transalpin @diningcar.at between #Buchs🇨🇭& #Zurich, one of the few remaining ÖBB 🇦🇹 full diners.They’ve got the winter menu: I went for a nice “Schweinsbraten Tullnerfeld” (pork roast, whatever the meaning behind Tullnerfeld) and an organic beer.

Lebensmittel wie Milch, Gemüse, Früchte, Brot und Fleisch vor die Haustüre geliefert bekommen. Eine tolle Sache, Nazmi Buchs kommt mit seinem rollenden Einkaufswagen zweimal die Woche vorbei und hält direkt vor der Haustüre. 🇨🇭🥒🥖🍎🧀

Erneuter Lok- und Richtungswechsel in Buchs 🇨🇭: Unsere zwei ÖBB-Tauri wurden dabei gegen zwei Exemplare der ikonischen Reihe 420 getauscht. 🥰

Heute vor 5 Jahren bin ich einen der letzten RE-Züge zwischen Villingen und Neustadt gefahren (schon mit 1440).
Heute vor 3 Jahren hat die SR die NJ-Wagen für den Amsterdamer Zug von 🇦🇹 nach Buchs SG 🇨🇭 gebracht.

This time last week I was boarding the Zürich to Zagreb night train that, due to engineering works around Pfäffikon SZ , was diverted via St. Gallen. However, the paths in 🇨🇭 and 🇦🇹 clearly did not align, as the train was booked to dwell on the border in Buchs SG for a little over 90 minutes.

I then ended up walking back over to the road and rail border with Liechtenstein by foot to snap some photos

The next day, the Monday, & the 4th day of my Interrail, but also my Switzerland day. Starting of cause where I finished yesterday at a sunny Zürich HB. Next stop Arth-Goldau! 🇨🇭
